Burna Boy didn’t pay medical bills of all patients – UPTH clarifies

The University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital, UPTH debunks reports that superstar singer, Burna Boy covered all medical bills for patients during a recent visit.

It would be recalled that the singer made headlines some days ago following his charitable acts in Port Harcourt, including paying medical billsfoodstuff giveaways, paid lunch worth N4M at a popular market, etc.

The hospital, however, clarified that Burna Boy only settled the bills of selected patients, contrary to claims that he paid all outstanding bills.

This clarification came after several blogs and news sites reported earlier this week that Burna Boy had paid the hospital bills for all patients.

The institution’s spokesperson, Elabha Meni clarified this in a statement released in Port Harcourt on Friday while applauding the singer’s kind heart.

“We commend Burna Boy’s kindness in financially assisting select patients in our hospital to offset their bills during his visit on June 11.

“However, contrary to reports stating that all patients’ bills in UPTH were paid during the visit, only selected patients received cash gifts or donations.

“The hospital did not receive direct payments from the musician and his team on behalf of patients to support this worthy course of reducing healthcare costs,” Meni stated.
